MUSCAT: The fourth Izdehari Mental Health Forum concluded in Muscat, bringing together specialists, experts and participants to discuss women’s mental health and promote psychological well-being at different stages of life.

The two-day forum highlighted women’s contributions and experiences in leadership, education, healthcare, media and entrepreneurship.

Its programme featured keynote speeches, panel discussions and workshops examining the psychological and social challenges women face, ways to manage life’s pressures, and the importance of self-awareness, emotional intelligence and supportive environments for personal growth and psychological recovery.

The first day featured dialogue sessions under the theme ‘The Journey of the Early Years’, exploring women’s roles in youth initiatives and adventure activities, as well as the relationship between women’s well-being and child health.

Sessions under ‘The Journey of Years of Building’ examined women’s participation in professional sectors, including real estate, banking, business development, education, law and human resources.

Workshops also explored emotional intelligence, including understanding and managing emotions, interacting effectively with others and developing self-advocacy skills.

The forum concluded on Saturday with discussions and workshops focusing on psychological and social well-being, self-compassion and ways for women to restore emotional balance and cope with life’s pressures.

Under the theme ‘The Journey of Years of Wisdom’, the second day’s programme examined women’s roles in climate action, environmental issues and governance, alongside their contributions to journalism, the arts, design and industrial development.

Through its diverse sessions, the forum seeks to encourage dialogue on mental health, raise awareness of psychological care and facilitate the exchange of experiences and expertise to help women navigate personal and professional challenges. - ONA
