KUALA LUMPUR: The 10th International Scientific Conference on 'The Prophet’s Biography in Omani Heritage' has recommended launching a national project to catalogue Omani manuscripts and documents related to the Prophet’s biography and make them accessible to support academic research and promote Oman’s heritage in this field.
Organised by the Omani Research and Studies Centre at the International Islamic University Malaysia, in cooperation with the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, represented by the Office of the Grand Mufti of Oman, the conference also highlighted the potential of modern technologies, including artificial intelligence, to advance research into the Prophet’s biography in Omani heritage.
The conference recommended promoting research into the contributions of Omani scholars to the study of the Prophet’s biography, establishing specialised digital platforms to preserve and showcase this heritage, and strengthening scientific and cultural cooperation among academic and research institutions in Oman, Malaysia and other countries of the Islamic world.
Held over three days, the conference featured five scientific sessions and 28 research papers presented by more than 36 researchers, who explored various aspects of the Prophet’s biography in Omani heritage. - ONA
