MASIRAH: A ceremony was held on Monday in the Wilayat of Masirah, Al Sharqiyah South Governorate, to lay the foundation stone of an integrated tourism and commercial investment project that will be implemented at a cost of RO 5.775 million. The project occupies an area of 60,000 square metres.

The ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr Yahya bin Badr al Maawali, Governor of Al Sharqiyah South.

Developed by United Real Estate Company, the complex constitutes an exemplary destination that combines various facilities for accommodation, shopping, entertainment and general services. The complex makes optimum use of the wilayat’s natural, heritage and cultural assets.

The project consists of hotel and tourist facilities, including a 20-room lodge, more than 40 villas and chalets, a traditional commercial market, a multi-purpose hall, along with pedestrian walkways, gardens and green spaces.

The project is being implemented as part of the governorate’s efforts to enhance the investment environment, attract quality tourism and commercial investments, and diversify tourist destinations in the governorate, thereby strengthening its position on the tourism and investment map.

The project also contributes to stimulating the local economy, creating marketing opportunities for small and medium enterprises and productive families, enhancing their participation in economic and tourism activities, and providing an integrated experience for visitors and tourists. - ONA
