MUSCAT, OCT 11

Saham moved level on points with leaders Al Nasr after beating Sur 1-0, while Al Musannah secured their first victory of the season with a commanding 4-1 win over Sohar in the fourth round of the 2026/27 Jindal League.

The matches played on October 9 and 10 also saw Dhofar snatch a late 2-2 draw against Samayil, while Ibri and Fanja shared the points in a goalless encounter. Three fixtures remain awaiting confirmed dates.

At Sohar Sports Complex, Ali al Hashmi’s ninth-minute strike proved enough to earn Saham their third win in four matches. Juma al Zaabi delivered a cross from the left, finding Al Hashmi inside the penalty area to finish past Sur goalkeeper Ahmed al Oraimi.

Sur responded with greater attacking urgency. Emmanuel tested Hassan al Buraiki with a powerful effort that the goalkeeper turned behind, before Abdullah al Musharafi shot narrowly wide in the 21st minute.

Saham continued to threaten as Sur pushed forward, although neither side converted further chances before the interval.

Sur increased the pressure after the restart, winning several corners, while Saham sought opportunities on the counterattack. A free kick in the 65th minute sailed over the bar as Sur’s search for an equaliser continued without reward.

Saham held firm to reach nine points, leaving Sur rooted to the bottom without a point after four consecutive defeats.

At Al Saada Sports Complex in Salalah, substitute Hussam al Naabi rescued a point for Dhofar with a 90th-minute equaliser against Samayil.

Mohammed al Muhaijri put Samayil ahead in the 19th minute, finishing a well-worked move past Mazin al Kasbi. Dhofar struggled to turn their response into clear opportunities, and Samayil goalkeeper Alaa al Hamadani protected the lead as his side went into the break 1-0 up.

Dhofar’s persistence eventually paid off in the 68th minute when Abu Kamara converted a chance inside the penalty area.

Samayil appeared to have secured victory when Mutasim al Hakmani restored their advantage in the 86th minute, finishing a counterattack after a pass from substitute Osama al Zughabi.

However, Al Naabi struck four minutes later to secure the draw. Dhofar remain without a win on two points, while Samayil have five.

Friday’s biggest victory belonged to Al Musannah, whose 4-1 success against Sohar at Al Rustaq Sports Complex ended a run of three defeats. The result gave Al Musannah their first three points of the campaign, while Sohar remained on five.

At Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex, Ibri’s goalless draw with Fanja took their tally to five points. Fanja moved onto two points but are still seeking both their first victory and their first league goal after four matches.

Al Nasr retain top spot on goal difference, with nine points from three matches, ahead of Saham, who have played four. Seeb and Al Nahda follow on seven points each.

The remaining fourth-round fixtures are Al Shabab against Al Nasr, Bahla against Al Nahda, and Seeb against Oman Club, with dates to be announced.
