

MUSCAT: The Sultanate of Oman’s economy grew 5.1 per cent in real terms in the second quarter of 2026, driven by higher oil-related activity, preliminary data from the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) showed.
Gross domestic product at constant prices reached approximately RO 9.9 billion, compared with about RO 9.4 billion in the same quarter of 2025.
Oil-related activities grew 14.7 per cent to approximately RO 3.4 billion, from about RO 3 billion a year earlier. Non-oil activities increased 0.7 per cent to approximately RO 7 billion, compared with about RO 6.8 billion, according to the data.
Agriculture and fisheries activities expanded 2.3 per cent to RO 325 million, from RO 317.8 million in the second quarter of 2025.
Industrial activities contracted 1.5 per cent to approximately RO 1.9 billion, compared with about RO 2 billion a year earlier.
Services grew 1.5 per cent to approximately RO 4.6 billion, from about RO 4.5 billion in the corresponding quarter of 2025. — ONA
