Muscat: All banks across India will remain be closed for a three-day proposed nationwide strike called by the United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU), a body of seven unions representing bank officers and staff.
For Indian expatriates in Oman, the proposed strike is not expected to disrupt the remittance services or delay customer transfers. Banks in India are open today for the convenience of the customers.
Banks will be also closed on October 2, for Gandhi Jayanti, the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi.
Branch-related activities such as cash deposits and cheque-related work will be suspended during these days, but customers can continue financial transactions via internet banking, ATMs, and UPI.
Most private banks are likely to remain open during these three days of the strike.
Even when bank branches are closed, customers can continue to access several digital banking services.
Customers can generally use UPI and internet/mobile banking for payments, fund transfers and other digital transactions.

RBI said the RTGS system is available 24x7x365, including bank holidays, allowing customers to transfer funds electronically.
