Luanda: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik was accorded an official reception ceremony at the Presidential Palace in the capital, Luanda on Friday. The ceremony was held on the occasion of the state visit His Majesty is paying to the Republic of Angola.
Upon His Majesty the Sultan's arrival at the Presidential Palace, President João Manuel Lourenço of the Republic of Angola led the welcoming party for His Majesty. President of Angola welcomed His Majesty the Sultan and the accompanying official delegation, expressing his profound delight at this gracious visit, as the artillery fired a twenty-one-gun salute in honour of His Majesty the Sultan.
Thereafter, His Majesty the Sultan and the President of Angola ascended the dais of honour, and the Royal Anthem of Oman and the Angolan National Anthem were played. Then, His Majesty the Sultan inspected the Guard of Honour.
Subsequently, His Majesty the Sultan shook hands with the senior dignitaries receiving him on the Angolan side, while the President of Angola shook hands with the Omani official delegation.
