DIMA W'ATTAYEEN: The Preliminary Qualifying Committee of the 34th Sultan Qaboos Holy Quran Competition, supervised by the Sultan Qaboos Higher Centre for Culture and Science at the Diwan of Royal Court, on Monday visited the Wilayat of Dima W'attayeen in Al Sharqiyah North Governorate. The visit is part of the competition's preliminary qualifiers for this year, during which the Committee listens to contestants from the wilayat.

Yousuf bin Mohammed al Balushi, Deputy Chairman of the Preliminary and Final Qualifying Committees, said the Committee has continued its work by visiting competition centres across the governorates of the Sultanate of Oman, in accordance with the approved schedule that began in early August. To date, it has visited 12 centres and listened to 861 male and female contestants across the competition's seven levels.

He explained that the preliminary qualifiers will continue until November 18. The final qualifiers for those who advance will then begin, with eight qualifiers from each level. The final qualifiers are scheduled to be held at the lecture hall of the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in the Wilayat of Bausher, Muscat Governorate. —ONA
