The Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones (OPAZ) participated in Pharma MachTech & LabNext Expo 2026 in New Delhi from September 7 to 9. Through its participation, OPAZ sought to engage companies, business leaders and investors operating in the pharmaceutical and medical devices sectors and introduce them to investment opportunities available across the special economic zones, free zones and industrial cities in the Sultanate of Oman.
OPAZ also participated in the Oman Pavilion and Trade & Investment Desk at the exhibition, which served as a platform for direct meetings with Indian and international companies, investors and institutions to explore opportunities for cooperation, partnerships and investment in Oman, while strengthening engagement between the business communities of the two countries.
Majada Al Ruzeqi, Investment Promotion Specialist at OPAZ, said that the Authority’s participation is aimed at attracting high-quality investments in targeted sectors, noting that the pharmaceutical and medical industries represent promising sectors offering significant opportunities for growth and industrial integration across the zones supervised by OPAZ.
She added that the meetings held by OPAZ with companies and investors provided an opportunity to position the Sultanate of Oman as a promising market, an investment partner and a platform for accessing wider markets. The discussions also explored opportunities to establish industrial and investment projects that contribute to strengthening value chains, facilitating knowledge and technology transfer, and expanding economic partnerships between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of India.
During its participation, OPAZ showcased investment opportunities available across its zones, particularly in pharmaceutical manufacturing, medical supplies and devices, and related industries. It also highlighted the incentives, facilities and investor services available, as well as the infrastructure and logistics capabilities that support the establishment and expansion of industrial projects and facilitate access to regional and global markets.
OPAZ further highlighted existing investment experiences in the pharmaceutical sector across the zones under its supervision. It presented opportunities for investors in pharmaceuticals, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), vaccines, biologics, medical equipment and devices, laboratories, and digital health, supporting the development of an integrated pharmaceutical value chain within Oman's economic, free and industrial zones.
Meanwhile, total committed investment across the zones supervised by OPAZ reached approximately RO 22.4 billion ($58 billion) by the end of December 2025, reflecting growing investor confidence in these zones. Their strategic locations across the Sultanate also enable investments to connect efficiently with ports and regional and global markets, while supporting economic diversification and the development of value-added sectors.
