SALALAH: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Supreme Commander, inaugurated the new headquarters of the Internal Security Service (ISS) in the Governorate of Dhofar on Wednesday morning.
Upon His Majesty’s arrival, he was received by Lt Gen Said bin Ali al Hilali, Head of the Internal Security Service, and a number of senior ISS officers.
His Majesty then unveiled a commemorative plaque, marking the official opening of the new headquarters.
His Majesty toured the facilities of the new headquarters and was briefed on its capabilities as well as the key functions and national roles undertaken by the ISS in maintaining security and stability.
His Majesty praised the efforts being made to modernise and develop the service and keep pace with developments across various areas of security work.
At the conclusion of the visit, His Majesty posed for commemorative photographs with a number of ISS personnel before leaving the headquarters.
