Oman, Tajikistan hold political talks, review bilateral relations

Oman and Tajikistan explored ways to support joint investments and boost trade exchange to serve the common interests of both countries

DUSHANBE: The foreign ministries of the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Tajikistan held their third round of political consultations in the Tajik capital, Dushanbe, on Saturday.


The two sides discussed existing cooperation between the two countries and ways to foster and develop it in various fields particularly the economic, investment, trade, scientific, and cultural sectors. They also explored ways to support joint investments and boost trade exchange to serve the common interests of both countries and their friendly peoples.

The Omani side was headed by Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali al Harthi, Under-Secretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, while the Tajik side was headed by Sharifzoda Farrukh Homiddin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan.

 

 

The two sides also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common interest.


Al Harthi met with Sirojiddin Muhriddin on the sidelines of the consultations session. He conveyed to him the greetings of Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidi, Foreign Minister.


The Tajik Foreign Minister stressed the importance of continuing visits and meetings between officials of the two countries at various levels, which contributes to strengthening cooperation between the two friendly nations.


The consultations and meeting were attended by Zubaydullo Zubaydzoda, Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Sultanate of Oman and a number of officials from the foreign ministries of both countries.

Meanwhile, Qohir Rasulzoda, Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, received, Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali al Harthi, Under-Secretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, during his visit to the Tajik capital, Dushanbe, to participate in the meeting of the Political Consultative Committee between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Tajikistan.


They discussed bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and opportunities to enhance cooperation in various fields were discussed.


Al Harthi conveyed the greetings of the Government of the Sultanate of Oman to the Tajik prime minister and its appreciation to the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan for opening its embassy in Muscat and the support this step represents for bilateral relations and the strengthening of communication and cooperation between the two countries.

The Tajik prime minister expressed his government’s appreciation for the role and standing of the Sultanate of Oman, emphasising Tajikistan’s interest in deepening cooperation between the two countries and exploring new areas to enhance the bilateral partnership.


The meeting was attended by Sharifzoda Farrukh Homiddin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Zubaydullo Zubaydzoda, Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Sultanate of Oman and a number of officials from the foreign ministries both countries. — ONA
