Port of Duqm has recorded growth in its Ro-Ro operations, handling 34,024 Ro-Ro units through more than 20 vessel calls up to August 2026. Of the total units handled, more than 600 were High and Heavy (H&H) units, highlighting the terminal’s capability to accommodate a diverse range of vehicle and cargo types. The figures mark an important milestone for the port and highlight Oman’s growing logistics capabilities and its ability to support the movement of large-scale vehicle shipments.
More than 4,400 units were handled during a single vessel call, demonstrating Port of Duqm’s operational capability to efficiently manage high-volume vehicle movements. The Ro-Ro Terminal has an annual handling capacity of more than 300,000 units, providing the infrastructure and capacity required to accommodate growing vehicle volumes and support the expansion of automotive logistics through Oman. The terminal now handles both import and export Ro-Ro cargo, offering customers greater flexibility and an expanded range of logistics solutions to meet their evolving needs.
Strategically located on Oman’s southeastern coast, Port of Duqm provides an important platform connecting Asian markets with regional markets, supporting the efficient flow of vehicles and other cargo between international markets and the region. Its location, combined with its infrastructure and operational capabilities, strengthens Al Duqm’s position as a strategic logistics gateway and contributes to Oman’s broader ambitions to develop a competitive and integrated logistics sector.
The continued growth in Ro-Ro activity reflects the increasing role of Port of Duqm in supporting vehicle trade and demonstrates the port’s readiness to handle large-scale shipments efficiently.
