MUSCAT: In a strategic move aimed at strengthening the technical staff and elevating the preparation and development levels of swimmers, the Oman Aquatics Federation has officially announced the signing of the renowned Algerian coach, Mohamed Bouguerra, to take over as the Head Coach of the national swimming teams.
The President of the Oman Aquatics Federation , Dr Awadh al Ojaili, confirmed that the federation carefully reviewed the portfolio and selection file for the head coach position, emphasised that the association has complete confidence in Coach Bouguerra’s high technical level and expertise, noting that he previously served as the head coach of the Algerian national swimming team, where he achieved commendable results during his tenure.
This agreement comes within the framework of the federation 's ongoing strategy to provide an integrated training environment that ensures raising the readiness of Omani swimmers to represent the Sultanate of Oman honourably across various regional and international arenas. Coach Mohamed Bouguerra boasts an extensive background and rich technical expertise in the field of sports coaching, bringing profound experience in preparing and developing swimmers physically and technically for diverse competitive challenges.
Worth noting, Coach Bouguerra is supported in his assigned duties by a group of dedicated national coaches who work alongside him to implement training programs effectively. Furthermore, his mission is fully backed by the National Teams and Coaches Committee, which provides comprehensive logistical support to ensure the successful execution of his training plans and future objectives.
Commenting on this milestone, Dr al Ojaili highlighted that recruiting a coaching expertise of Coach Bouguerra's caliber reflects the federation 's unwavering commitment to advancing Oman's swimming ecosystem and enhancing the technical capabilities of its athletes, wishing the entire technical staff and the national teams every success in achieving their desired goals and future commitments.
