SALALAH: As part of ongoing field visits to track healthcare infrastructure projects and assess service delivery across Oman’s governorates, Dr Hilal bin Ali al Sabti, Minister of Health, conducted an extensive inspection tour of Dhofar Governorate. The tour focused on reviewing construction progress at the new Dhalkout Hospital project and inspecting operations at the Jibjat and Titam health centres.

Dr Al Sabti was accompanied by Dr Hani al Qadhi, Director-General of Health Services in Dhofar Governorate, along with several senior ministry officials. He began the tour by examining the execution phase of the new Dhalkout Hospital. Project managers briefed the Minister on completion milestones reached within the construction package, technical blueprints, and the modern medical and logistical equipment set to be installed in line with approved healthcare standards.

During his walkthrough of the facility, the Minister stressed the need to sustain momentum and adhere strictly to the established execution timeline. He noted that the hospital will meet the growing healthcare needs of residents in the Wilayat of Dhalkout and neighbouring areas, providing integrated medical care that improves quality of life and reduces the need for long-distance travel to receive treatment.

Turning to operational readiness in existing facilities, Dr Al Sabti visited the Jibjat and Titam health centres, alongside several facilities in eastern Salalah. He reviewed daily operational workflows and performance metrics across outpatient clinics, specialised units, and support departments—including laboratories, pharmacies, and primary care sections—to ensure service efficiency and staff preparedness.

In line with the government's commitment to direct community engagement, the Minister met with local citizens and patients to gather feedback on service delivery and listen to their suggestions. He affirmed that public input remains an essential baseline for the Ministry's continuous evaluation and service development strategies.

Concluding the visit, Dr Al Sabti commended the dedicated efforts of medical, nursing, technical, and administrative personnel across Dhofar, acknowledging their vital role in delivering quality care to the community.

Dr Al Sabti reaffirmed the ministry’s resolve to continue empowering healthcare institutions throughout the governorate with advanced technology and essential resources. He emphasised that these developments support the strategic goals of "Oman Vision 2040," which seeks to boost health sector performance, decentralise specialised medical care, and guarantee comprehensive healthcare coverage across all regions of Oman.
