SALALAH: The "My Identity: Oman – Identity and Civilization" event and exhibition on Wednesday commenced at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Compound for Culture and Entertainment in the Wilayat of Salalah, Dhofar Governorate. Organised by the Hidayah Waqf Foundation, the event will run until 19 August 2026.
The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr Ahmed bin Mohsin al Ghassani, Chairman of Dhofar Municipality.
The event features an exhibition comprising a variety of pavilions, including a pavilion on rights in Omani society, a pavilion on Omani values in urban jurisprudence, and a pavilion on the values and ethics of Omani merchants in spreading Islam, alongside a pavilion showcasing Omani contributions in various fields of the humanities, and an Omani village pavilion that embodies the features of Omani architecture as an intellectual and human heritage.
The event aims to highlight the civilisational essence of the Sultanate of Oman and the roots of its authentic Islamic values through the model of the balanced Omani character, while also reinforcing Omani identity across different segments of society. — ONA
