Iran's spokesperson of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of Iran’s parliament says a general framework of understanding has been reached with Oman, pending final approval from a higher level.But it seems that Iranian officials want to make these arrangements with Oman as part of a much bigger regional security framework.
The deputy foreign minister, Kazem Gharibabadi, says the security of the Gulf must be provided by the Gulf states, not by foreign powers.
