Since its launch 20 years ago, Al Mouj Muscat has attracted RO880 million in foreign direct investment, while sales revenue has exceeded RO1 billion, with daily transactions averaging around RO385,000.
An economic study commissioned to measure the project's economic and social impact showed that Al Mouj Muscat's contribution to Oman's GDP reached RO878 million, supporting economic and social development and strengthening investment.
Ahmed Al Massan, Acting CEO of Al Mouj Muscat, said the destination has delivered results across economic diversification and investment in tourism and related sectors, alongside support for entertainment and sports programmes.
He said the project has supported private sector growth through 167 small and medium enterprises, with In Country Value of RO560 million at 43.6 percent.
He noted that Al Mouj Muscat is home to five hotels, including Kempinski Hotel Muscat, Mysk Al Mouj by Shaza, St. Regis Al Mouj Muscat and Mouj Reehan by Rotana, with The Okura Muscat scheduled to open in 2027. Together, they account for 1,196 rooms.
Al Mouj Golf has hosted 11 global championships and 144 touring professionals, with 298,000 rounds played. Al Mouj Marina supports marine tourism and local business, with 400 berths, 97 percent occupancy, and 31 marine tourism operator SMEs running trips from the waterfront, alongside shops, restaurants, and cafés.
Al Mouj Muscat has recorded shareholder returns of 337 percent. Its community brings together owners and investors from 90 nationalities. A total of 3,272 homes have been delivered, home to more than 8,000 residents, with the population expected to reach 19,000 at completion.
He added that RO1 million has been invested in human capital and learning.
Al Mouj Muscat is completing the remaining oceanfront homes and developing new commercial space, community and leisure facilities, and retail. 80 percent of the masterplan is complete, and the destination welcomes approximately 4 million visitors a year.
