Oman receives over 48,000 Chinese visitors in six months

Muscat: The Sultanate saw 1.8 million inbound visitors in the first six months of 2026, 

The top five nationalities that visited the country during this period are Emiratis (491,503), Indians (382,015), Germans (68,771), Yemenis (48,813), and Chinese (48,123).

Hotel guests

The three- to five-star hotels generated 992,009 guests who spent 1,518,986 nights. The occupancy rate was 46.3 percent

The revenues generated from rooms were RO124.2 million.

The hotel guests were mostly (77,266), GCC (9,916), other Arabs (6,792), Asians (24,336), Europeans (8,997), Americans (2,830), and Oceanians (752).

The occupancy was 40.3% in Muscat, 18.6% in Dhofar, 65.9% in North al Batinah, 40.5% in South Batinah, 47% in Al Dhahirah, and 42.8% in Al Wusta governorates.

Airports in the Sultanate of Oman saw 2,561,847 passenger arrivals from 18,899 international and 3,619 domestic flights.

Departures from Oman

Around 4.12 million people departed the Sultanate of Oman in the first six months of 2026.

Top six nationalities that arrived in the Sultanate of Oman were 77,382 Indians, 56,596, Omanis, 22,870 Pakistanis, 21,087 Bangladeshis, 15,440 Iranians and 9,666 Egyptians
