MUSCAT: Al Nahda are continuing their daily training programme as preparations intensify for the start of the 2026–27 football season.

The team will face Saham in a friendly match on Wednesday before travelling to the UAE for a training camp in Fujairah from August 4 to 8. During the camp, Al Nahda will take on UAE side Al Arabi on August 5, followed by a friendly against Ittihad Kalba on August 8.

The club hopes the overseas camp will provide the players with valuable match practice and help them reach full fitness ahead of the domestic league campaign and their participation in the AFC Champions League Two.

Meanwhile, the Oman Football Association has yet to announce the fixture schedule for the Association Cup, which is due to begin on August 13, or the Jindal League, scheduled to kick off on August 23.

The date of the Super Cup match between league champions Seeb and His Majesty’s Cup winners Al Nahda has also not been confirmed. In addition, the association has not released the schedule for the preliminary rounds of His Majesty’s Cup, leaving clubs awaiting confirmation of their opening fixtures.

The National Teams Committee, during its meeting on Tuesday, submitted several recommendations to the OFA Board of Directors regarding the national team’s preparation programme until the end of the year.

The proposed programme includes domestic and overseas training camps, as well as participation in the Gulf Cup in Saudi Arabia in September and preparations for the AFC Asian Cup, which will also be held in Saudi Arabia in January.

Elsewhere, Jindal League clubs are continuing their preparations for the new season, with most teams having completed their player and technical staff appointments. Clubs have also begun playing friendly matches as they work to improve their technical and physical readiness ahead of the opening round, with the league fixture list still awaited.
