MUSCAT: Asyad Container Terminal in Duqm has marked a new milestone after receiving CMA CGM Vasco da Gama, one of the world’s largest container ships.

The vessel’s maiden call at the terminal demonstrates its advanced operational capabilities and readiness to handle large container ships.

Omar bin Mahmood al Mahrizi, CEO of Asyad Ports and Free Zones, said the ship’s first visit reflected the terminal’s advanced capabilities and the confidence that major global shipping companies place in the Sultanate of Oman.

Strategically located in Duqm, Asyad Container Terminal is well positioned to meet growing demand for import, export and transshipment services. It provides reliable and highly efficient container-handling services tailored to customers’ needs while enhancing the competitiveness of supply chains.
