The Iranian army has announced that it targeted the US Sheikh Isa military base in Bahrain with drones, the state news agency Fars reports.
The base is one of the key facilities for the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet and is at the centre of US operations.
The Iranian army said it had targeted US assets in Kuwait and Bahrain, including air defence systems, radar installations and administrative buildings.
"With this radar sweep, the enemy should prepare for even more decisive and powerful waves of drone and missile attacks," the army said.
