MUSCAT: The Ministry of Energy and Minerals will launch the Energy and Minerals Exhibition and Media Forum 2026 in Salalah on Saturday, showcasing Oman's energy transition, mineral resources and investment opportunities during the Dhofar Khareef season.
The event, which runs until August 6, will be held under the auspices of Sayyid Marwan bin Turki al Said, Governor of Dhofar, and is being organised in cooperation with companies operating in the energy and minerals sectors.
Held at Atin Square alongside the Dhofar Khareef Festival, the exhibition aims to strengthen public awareness of the sector's contribution to economic diversification, sustainable development and local value creation.
Visitors will be able to explore nine interactive pavilions covering the history of Oman's oil industry, renewable energy, hydrogen projects, mineral resources, investment opportunities, digital transformation and local content initiatives.
A dedicated pavilion will highlight community development and corporate social responsibility programmes undertaken by companies in the energy sector, while an interactive children's zone will offer educational activities and competitions focused on energy and minerals.
Alongside the exhibition, the ministry will host a media forum bringing together journalists, content creators, communications specialists and industry experts to discuss developments in oil and gas, mining, renewable energy, hydrogen, sustainability and investment.
The ministry said the forum is intended to strengthen communication between the energy sector, media organisations and the wider community while equipping journalists with deeper knowledge of the industry's achievements, future projects and role in supporting Oman Vision 2040. — ONA
