MUSCAT: A number of Their Excellencies and officials visited the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Muscat on Monday to offer condolences on the passing of Shaikh Hamad bin Khalifa al Thani.

They were received by Shaikh Mubarak bin Fahad al Thani, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Sultanate of Oman, and embassy staff.

Their Excellencies and the officials expressed their condolences and sympathies to their brethren in the State of Qatar, paying tribute to the late Emir's pivotal role in Qatar's renaissance and development, and in strengthening fraternal ties and advancing relations between the two brotherly countries.

They affirmed the strength of the historic bonds between the two nations, which continue to deepen under the blessed leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and Shaikh Tamim bin Hamad al Thani, Emir of Qatar.

The Qatari Ambassador expressed his profound gratitude for the sincere fraternal sentiments shown by Oman — leadership, government and people — on the passing of Shaikh Hamad bin Khalifa al Thani, and the deep impact his loss has had on the people of Qatar.

At the conclusion of the visit, Their Excellencies and the officials recorded their messages of condolences in the embassy's book of condolences, praying to Allah the Almighty to grant the late Shaikh Hamad bin Khalifa al Thani vast mercy, to rest him in peace in paradise, and to bestow upon the sisterly State of Qatar lasting security and prosperity. - ONA
