JAALAN BANI BU ALI: The fourth edition of Al Ashkharah Tourism Forum will be held from July 22 to August 15. The event is organised by the Office of the Governor of Al Sharqiyah South Governorate in Al Ashkharah area, Wilayat of Jaalan Bani Bu Ali.


Al Ashkharah Tourism Forum promotes activities that highlight the Omani heritage and enhance innovation and economic development.


Over the past few years, the forum succeeded in transforming the coastal strip of Al Ashkharah area into a destination that attracted thousands of visitors. It utilised natural and cultural elements in generating an integrated tourism product that showcased the vitality of the countryside economy, in partnership with the local community.


The forum emerges as a comprehensive national platform rooted in the Omani identity and aligned with the aspirations of the tourism sector.


The 3rd edition of the forum attracted more than 430,000 visitors from within Oman, featured 120 events and generated 125 direct and 46 indirect employment opportunities. It also saw the participation of 27 small and medium enterprises (SMEs), 20 local business households and 31 craftsmen.


This affirmed the forum’s role in supporting entrepreneurship, marketing national products and empowering craftsmen and local business households in line with the goals of sustainable economic development. — ONA
