ANKARA: The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning discussed practical avenues for cooperation and investment in housing and urban planning with several official and private institutions in Türkiye.
The discussions focused on enhancing opportunities for the private sector in urban development projects in the Sultanate of Oman.
The Omani delegation to the Republic of Türkiye was headed by Dr Khalfan bin Said al Shueili, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning. The delegation comprised representatives from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, Khazaen Economic City, the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) and Omani real estate developers.
During the visit, the delegation conducted an intensive programme of government and investment meetings and field visits. The aim was to expand economic partnerships, attract high-quality investments, and connect major urban development projects in the Sultanate of Oman with global expertise.
This aligns with national objectives for building sustainable cities and enhancing the real estate sector’s contribution to economic development. The visit included more than 20 meetings, gatherings, and field visits, bringing together government officials, investors, real estate developers, construction companies, and investment and financing institutions.
It also included visits to several leading urban, tourism, and commercial projects.
The delegation held meetings with government entities concerned with housing and urban planning, Real Estate Developers Association, and a number of leading institutions in real estate development, investment, and construction, as well as field visits to mixed-use urban, residential, tourism, and commercial projects.
The meetings with the public and private sectors focused on reviewing strategic urban projects in the Sultanate of Oman, particularly future cities and integrated residential neighbourhoods. They also highlighted the Sultanate of Oman’s investment environment, investment regulations, and incentives offered to developers.
The discussions also explored mechanisms for Turkish companies to participate in urban development projects and leverage their expertise in real estate development, project management, modern construction technologies, and digital transformation. — ONA
