The Muscat Steel Asian Women’s Hockey Federation Cup 2026 gets underway on Sunday at the Oman Hockey Stadium in Al Amerat, with five Asian teams competing in the tournament hosted by the Oman Hockey Association.
The competition will run until July 18 and marks another major international sporting event staged in the Sultanate of Oman.
The opening day features two matches, with Hong Kong taking on Bangladesh at 6 pm, followed by Uzbekistan against Kazakhstan at 8 pm. Pakistan completes the five-team field, while all matches will be played at the Oman Hockey Stadium under a round-robin format.
Rudaina al Hajri, Board Member of the Oman Hockey Association and Chair of the Women's Committee, said all technical and organisational preparations had been completed in cooperation with the Asian Hockey Federation. She added that hosting the tournament reflects Oman’s growing reputation as a regional sporting destination and supports the continued development of women’s hockey in the country and across Asia.
