MUSCAT: The Joint Committee between the Ministry of Information and Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) held its periodic meeting at the Ministry of Information's headquarters, in the presence of Dr Abdullah bin Nasser al Harrasi, Minister of Information,HH Sayyid Dr Fahd bin Al Julanda al Said, Vice-Chancellor of SQU, and committee members from both sides.


The committee discussed a number of topics listed on its agenda, including considering commissioning university specialists to conduct a study on the attitudes of Omani children towards online media content on digital platforms. The findings of the study will be utilised to develop and produce children's content via the "Ayn" electronic platform.


The meeting also discussed organising periodic seminars dedicated to media issues, preparing for an international conference on the impact of artificial intelligence on media, and reviewing preparations related to the media aspects for the university's celebration of its 40th anniversary.


The Joint Committee between the Ministry of Information and Sultan Qaboos University aims to enhance and develop cooperation in the media and academic fields by supporting research and joint studies, qualifying and training students and personnel, organising conferences, seminars, and training courses, and exchanging expertise and specialised competencies in the media sector. - ONA
