Muscat: The One Team Initiative for Government continues to represent a key national effort to strengthen a culture of collaboration, shared responsibility and impact-driven public service across the State's Administrative Apparatus.

Launched by the Royal Academy of Management with the Royal blessing of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the initiative seeks to foster a unified government mindset that transcends individual job functions and focuses on delivering meaningful outcomes for society and the nation.

Designed as the first initiative of its kind in the region, the programme aims to reinforce the concept of working as one government team, encouraging employees to view their roles within the broader context of national development and public service. The initiative aligns with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 and supports efforts to build a flexible, innovative and future-ready public sector.

The programme focuses on four key dimensions: strengthening employees' understanding of their role in public service, promoting active citizenship and community engagement, enhancing awareness of their contribution to Oman’s development, and encouraging the adoption of global best practices while preserving Omani values and identity.

Its implementation includes interactive workshops, ambassador programmes, facilitator training, impact assessment and national communication campaigns. The workshops are designed to help participants connect their personal goals with institutional objectives while gaining a deeper appreciation of the wider impact of their work.

In its first phase, the initiative targeted thousands of employees from government entities across different administrative levels, with plans to gradually expand across the public sector over the coming years.

In its initial phase, the initiative brought together around 5,000 employees from 19 government entities within the State’s administrative apparatus, with implementation focusing on the governorates of Muscat, Dhofar, Musandam and North Al Batinah. The programme was designed as a phased effort, with plans to gradually expand over a five-year period to encompass all employees across the government system at various levels, reinforcing its long-term vision of unified public service.

Officials have described the initiative as an important step towards strengthening integration among government institutions and enhancing the efficiency and quality of public services.

The One Team Initiative reflects Oman’s ongoing commitment to developing human capital and promoting a collaborative government culture capable of responding to evolving national priorities and future challenges.
