MUSCAT: Oman’s crude oil exports increased by 2.7 per cent during the first four months of 2026, reaching 102.73 million barrels by the end of April, compared with 100.03 million barrels during the same period last year, according to preliminary data released by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).

The increase in exports came despite a significant decline in global oil prices. The average realised oil price fell by 15.4 per cent to $64.2 per barrel by the end of April 2026, compared with $75.9 per barrel during the corresponding period of 2025.

Production figures, however, showed strong growth. Oman’s average daily oil output rose by 7.5 per cent to 1.06 million barrels per day, up from 986,700 barrels per day recorded during the same period last year.

Total oil production also increased by 7.5 per cent, reaching 127.31 million barrels by the end of April 2026 compared with 118.40 million barrels during the first four months of 2025.

The data indicate that higher production and export volumes helped offset part of the impact of weaker oil prices, supporting the continued contribution of the hydrocarbons sector to the national economy.

Despite the decline in average prices, Oman’s oil sector maintained solid output growth during the period, reflecting sustained operational performance and stable export demand in key international markets. — ONA
