MUSCAT: The Indian Social Club (ISC), Oman, successfully concluded its Annual Tennis League Championship, bringing together 20 enthusiastic players for a highly competitive and entertaining tournament that showcased exceptional talent, sportsmanship, and camaraderie.
The championship was played in the popular Americano doubles format, where every participant partnered with and competed against every other player during the league stage. This unique format tested not only individual skill and consistency but also adaptability, teamwork, and strategic play, making for an engaging and closely contested competition.
After a series of exciting matches, the tournament concluded with a rare and remarkable result. Suhail Khan, KK Girish and Shanawaz KK finished with identical scores and were declared Joint Champions of the championship. Rathish secured fourth place following a strong and consistent performance throughout the event.
The semifinalists who narrowly missed a place among the top finishers were Ganesh Swaminathan, Hemchandra Ail, Junaith Kassim, and Arun Ganesan, all of whom demonstrated outstanding tennis and competitive spirit.
A Plate Championship was also conducted to provide additional playing opportunities for participants. Atul Saggar emerged as the Plate Champion, while Noushith, Narendra Kumar, and Anurag secured the subsequent positions with commendable performances.
The tournament was meticulously organised by Shanawaz KK, whose dedication and efficient management ensured the smooth and successful conduct of the championship. Participants appreciated the well-structured format and the friendly yet competitive atmosphere that characterized the event.
The championship concluded with a gala prize distribution ceremony, during which trophies and prizes were presented to the champions, finalists, and top performers.
