Muscat: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) announced the resumption of issuing operating permits for unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) for governmental, commercial and recreational purposes in designated green zones through the Serb platform.

The authority also confirmed the resumption of permits for paragliding, paramotor activities and other aerial sports aircraft, in addition to aviation-related events and sporting activities across the Sultanate of Oman.

According to the circular issued on May 25, the decision comes into effect immediately and will remain valid until further notice, while the situation will continue to be reviewed in line with ongoing developments.

The CAA stressed the importance of full compliance with the provisions and regulations governing these activities, underscoring the need to maintain the highest standards of safety and security in Oman’s airspace.

The authority appreciated the cooperation of all stakeholders and users, affirming that adherence to approved procedures will support the safe and organised operation of air activities in the Sultanate.
