MUSCAT: Oman Airports (OA) has signed a strategic agreement with Changi Airports International (CAI) to support the commercial development of Muscat International Airport and enhance the overall passenger experience.

The partnership forms part of Oman Airports’ wider efforts to strengthen the airport’s competitiveness, improve operational excellence and diversify revenue streams, while supporting the tourism ambitions outlined under Oman Vision 2040.

The agreement was signed during an official ceremony in Singapore and reflects a shared commitment to adopting international best practices across airport operations and retail development.

Nasser al Shargi, Chief Executive Officer of Oman Airports, said the collaboration would help strengthen every stage of the passenger journey through the exchange of expertise with one of the world’s leading aviation hubs.

“I am pleased to announce this collaboration between Changi Airport and OA. As the world’s leading airport, Changi brings extensive expertise in delivering a world-class guest experience. Through this partnership, we aim to share best practices and strengthen every touchpoint across the passenger journey. We firmly believe that continuously enhancing the guest experience is fundamental to airport excellence and long-term success,” he said.

Eugene Gan, Chief Executive Officer of CAI, said the company was honoured to expand its cooperation with Oman Airports on a longer-term basis.

“Changi Airports International is honoured to continue this partnership with Oman Airports on a longer-term basis. As a country, Oman not only has a rich history and cultural heritage, but also diverse and beautiful natural landscapes, coupled with warm hospitality. It is also safe, peaceful, and an oasis of calm even during exceptional situations. We are confident that our partnership will deliver strong results at Muscat Airport,” he said.

The agreement is expected to reinforce Muscat International Airport’s position as a leading regional aviation gateway while opening new opportunities for sustainable growth and commercial development across the airport ecosystem.
