Oman's passport improves rankings

Muscat – The Sultanate of Oman's Passport has improved its rankings in the latest Henley Passport Index for May 2026 to 55, compared to the rankings of 57 that were issued in January this year.

Omani citizens can travel visa-free or with a Visa on Arrival (VOA) to 84 destinations. Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh (VOA), Barbados, Belarus, Bermuda, Botswana, Brunei, Burundi (VOA), Cambodia (VOA), Cape Verde Islands (VOA), Cayman Islands, China, Colombia, Comoro Islands (VOA), Cook Islands, Djibouti (VOA), Dominica (VOA), Ecuador, Egypt, Ethiopia (VOA), Falkland Islands, Georgia, Haiti, Guinea-Bissau (VOA), Hong Kong (SAR China), Indonesia (VOA), Iran, Jordan, Kosovo, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Laos (VOA), Lebanon, Macao, Madagascar (VOA), Malaysia, Maldives (VOA), Mauritius, Micronesia, Morocco, Mozambique (VOA), Nepal (VOA), New Zealand, Niue (VOA), Pakistan, Palau Islands (VOA), Paraguay (VOA), Philippines, Russian Federation (VOA), Rwanda, Samao, Senegal, Serbia, Sierra Leone, Singapore, South Korea, Suriname, Syria, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Thailand, The Bahamas, Timor-Leste, Tunisia, Turkiye, Turks and Caicos Islands, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vanuatu, Yemen, and Zambia.

E-visa

Omanis can apply for E-visa to Albania, Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Benin, Bhutan, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Congo (Dem. Rep.), Côte d'Ivoire, Cuba, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, India, Iraq, Liberia, Malawi, Mauritania, Moldova, Namibia, Nicaragua, Nigeria, São Tomé and Príncipe, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, St. Helena, Taiwan (Chinese Taipei), Togo, Uganda, Vietnam, Zimbabwe.

In the GCC, the UAE passport is ranked 2nd (187 visa-free countries), Saudi Arabia 51th (88 visa-free countries), Qatar 46th (112 countries), and Kuwait 48th (96 visa-free countries).

The index ranks all the world's passports according to the number of destinations their holders can access without a prior visa. While a record number of passports now cluster at the top of the ranking, those at the bottom remain increasingly isolated, underscoring a widening global mobility gap, according to the report.
