Muscat: To regulate the land transport sector and enhance the efficiency of freight transport procedures, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology (MTCIT) has said that all freight truck services, including operators of land transport management and routing applications to get the transport document (e-pass) before commencing transport operations.

The rule also applies to operators of foreign trucks entering the Sultanate of Oman

This measure aims to control and regulate the movement of goods, raise the level of compliance, and ensure the preservation of the rights of all stakeholders. The document can be availed from mtcit.nafith.om.

The Ministry had earlier launched a package of facilitation measures and operational privileges to regulate the movement of foreign and local trucks and to streamline trade flow through the ports of the Sultanate of Oman, through the Electronic Transit Card (ePass).
