Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) warned the public against a sophisticated new wave of electronic fraud targeting job seekers in the Sultanate of Oman. The Directorate General of Inquiries and Criminal Investigations revealed that scammers are utilizing digital platforms to promote counterfeit job opportunities falsely attributed to the ROP, often using professional-looking advertisements and AI-generated imagery to lure victims into fraudulent schemes.

In an official statement, the ROP urged all citizens to exercise extreme vigilance by verifying the authenticity of recruitment advertisements through official channels and to avoid interacting with any unofficial entities. Authorities emphasised that any suspicious activity should be reported immediately to the competent specialised agencies to curb the spread of these cybercrimes.
