

Al RUSTAQ: The ‘Technology and Craft Art Exhibition’ concluded on Saturday at Al Rustaq Public Park in Al Batinah South Governorate. The expo showcased the integration of modern technology with traditional Omani handicrafts.
Organised by the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Department in the governorate, the exhibition featured 35 participants representing craft institutions, artisans, home-based businesses, SMEs and productive families from across the governorate.
The event aims to promote and modernise Omani handicrafts through innovative techniques and digital solutions, while preserving national identity and creating new opportunities for craftsmen and entrepreneurs.
Several government entities participated to showcase their services, including the Ministry of Health, which is introducing the digital features of the 'Shifa' application.
School students also displayed scientific innovations reflecting growing youth interest in technology and innovation.
The exhibition included a special section for the University Student Fund under the Office of the Wali of Al Rustaq, where proceeds from used book sales supported university students in the wilayat.
Live events such as theatrical performances, arts, photography and traditional Omani sweet-making demonstrations were also held. The exhibition was inaugurated by Shaikh Humaid bin Salim al Tabai, Deputy Wali of Al Rustaq. — ONA
