Nizwa at top, Seeb and Al Amerat extend winning streaks round four

MUSCAT: Nizwa maintained their lead at the top of the Athletes’ Development Centres Basketball League after defeating Al Bashayer 54-32 in the fourth round of the 2025-2026 season.


Seeb also continued their chase with a convincing 57-29 win over Sohar Sports Complex Centre, while Al Amerat secured a strong 75-41 victory against Salalah. The matches were held at the sub-hall of the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Muscat.


With these results, Nizwa moved to eight points at the top of the standings, followed by Seeb in second place with seven points. Al Amerat climbed to third with six points, while Al Bashayer and Salalah are level on four points each. Sohar Sports Complex remained on three points.


Nizwa showed early authority in the opening match, combining quick transitions with accurate passing and strong finishing under the basket. They dominated the first quarter 23-4 before extending their lead to 37-15 by half-time.

Al Bashayer improved after the break and managed to reduce the gap in the third quarter, scoring eight points while limiting Nizwa to three. However, Nizwa regained control in the final period, adding 14 points against nine to close the match 54-32.


Wail Ambosaidi and Hamza al Sabri led Nizwa’s scoring with 10 points each, while Mutaz al Rashdi added nine and Nawaf Ambosaidi scored six. For Al Bashayer, Ridha al Riyami stood out with 14 points, while Elias al Busaidy added four.


In the second match, Seeb produced a disciplined display to overcome Sohar Sports Complex Centre 57-29. Seeb imposed their rhythm from the start, using tight defence and sharp attacking execution to win the first quarter 24-4. They remained in control in the second quarter and went into half-time ahead 39-13.


Sohar Sports Complex showed improvement in the third quarter performance, and its players managed to reduce the gap relatively by scoring 8 points compared to 5 points for Seeb. Seeb finished strongly in the fourth period, adding 13 points against eight to seal another important win.

Saif al Mughairi was Seeb’s leading scorer with 20 points, followed by Al Farooq al Hasani with 17. For Sohar Sports Complex, Mohammed al Shezawi scored 12 points, while Omran al Shezawi added five.


Al Amerat completed the day’s action with a commanding 75-41 victory over Salalah. They began strongly, taking the first quarter 18-7, before maintaining their attacking rhythm to lead 40-24 at half-time.


The third quarter proved decisive as Al Amerat tightened its defence and held Salalah to only four points while scoring 18. They continued their superiority in the final quarter to complete a deserved win.


Abdulrahman Shamas and Laith al Kindi scored 13 points each for Al Amerat, while Moathir al Battashi and Al Yaman al Badi added nine points apiece. Fahad Sanjoor led Salalah with 24 points, supported by Murshid Abu Salasil with nine.
