

Muscat Directorate of Education asserted its dominance at the School Sports League for Team Games, clinching both the girls’ volleyball and 3x3 basketball titles at the conclusion of the tournament, organised by the Oman School Sports Association. The finals were held at the sub-hall of Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher under the auspices of Dr Aisha bint Hamad al Darmaki, Member of the State Council, in the presence of Nadhira bint Ahmed al Harthy, Chairperson of the Association.
Muscat secured the volleyball title after a deserved straight-set victory over Al Sharqiyah North in the final. The match witnessed strong competition and high-quality performances from both sides, with Muscat’s players showcasing superior organisation and teamwork to seal the win. Al Batinah North claimed third place after defeating Al Dakhiliyah 2–1.
In the 3x3 basketball competition, Muscat continued their impressive run, defeating Al Dakhiliyah 6–1 in the final to complete a remarkable double. The team’s consistent performances throughout the tournament highlighted their attacking strength and defensive discipline. Al Batinah North secured third place with a 4–1 victory over Al Batinah South.
The tournament featured intense competition, particularly in the 3x3 basketball event, which saw 25 matches played in a single day, reflecting a high level of competitiveness and showcasing promising young talent from across the educational directorates.
Following the matches, a closing ceremony was held, featuring a visual presentation highlighting key moments from the league, along with student performances. Sponsors and supporting partners were honoured, in addition to referees, organisers and technical and medical staff who contributed to the success of the event.
During the awards ceremony, Muscat received the gold medals and trophies in both competitions. Al Dakhiliyah finished as runners-up in basketball, while Al Sharqiyah North claimed second place in volleyball. Al Batinah North secured third place in both events.
This successful edition of the School Sports League once again underlines its importance as a platform for discovering and developing young sporting talent, while strengthening the role of school sports in supporting future national teams.
