MUSCAT: The Sultanate of Oman is reinforcing its cultural presence on the global stage with participation in the 40th edition of the Tunis International Book Fair, while also marking World Book and Copyright Day with a renewed focus on the enduring relevance of the written word.


At the Tunis fair, inaugurated under the auspices of President of Tunisia, Kais Saied, Oman’s pavilion drew attention for its rich display of publications reflecting the depth of Omani literature, science and culture. The President toured the pavilion in the presence of Ambassador Dr Hilal bin Abdullah al Sinani, reviewing a range of works that highlight Oman’s intellectual and creative output.


The fair, now in its 40th edition, brings together participants from 37 countries and 394 publishing houses, showcasing more than 148,000 titles, making it one of the region’s leading cultural gatherings. — ONA
