Muscat Governorate will launch a Reforestation Project on Sultan Qaboos Street - Al Seeb.

According to the Municipality, "Every tree is not suitable for every road, and incorrect planting can cause obstructed visibility, traffic hazards, and higher resource consumption."

The project will include the removal of existing palm trees, planting replacement trees, and the complete reorganization of the landscaping.

The forestation will cover 14 km on both sides, with 5 meters for landscaping, 1,300 palm trees to be removed, and 1,500 new plants will be planted.

Sultan Qaboos Street (N5) is the primary highway that passes through the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, old Muscat International Airport, and the Royal Opera House, among others.

The street is expected to see a major makeover in the coming decades with the implementation of the Downtown Al Khuwair Project and the Muscat Metro.
