MUSCAT: The Ministry of Social Development organised a developmental workshop for the elderly sector, which will run for two weeks with the participation of a number of specialists and representatives from government entities, the private sector and civil society institutions. This initiative is part of national efforts to develop an integrated system of services for this demographic and to enhance their quality of life.

The workshop aims to bring together various relevant stakeholders through participatory meetings in order to assess challenges and gaps in the elderly sector, analyse them and identify opportunities for improvement, thereby contributing to the development of programmes and services through a comprehensive and integrated methodology.

It also seeks to align visions among relevant entities, enhance institutional integration and build effective partnerships that support the implementation of high-impact initiatives aligned with the targets of Oman Vision 2040.
