MUSCAT: Under the auspices of Dr Saif bin Abdullah al Haddabi, Chairman of the Research and Innovation Authority, and in the presence of Dr Said bin Hamad al Rubaie, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Technology and Applied Sciences, Al Musannah is set to host the 'What If 2026' research and innovation forum on April 20.

The forum will bring together students, researchers and innovators on an interactive platform aimed at transforming ideas into practical solutions that contribute to society and the economy. It reflects the university’s commitment to fostering applied research and innovation through a comprehensive program featuring specialised scientific sessions that explore collaboration between academia and industry, alongside student and research project presentations addressing real-world challenges in Al Batinah South.

The event will also include an interactive innovation exhibition showcasing modern technologies such as robotics, drones and 3D printing, in addition to hosting Omani innovators who will share their experiences and success stories.

A key highlight of the forum is the “Best Research Project” competition, focusing on implementable solutions, along with finals of innovation contests that promote creativity and competition among students, supported by partners from both the public and private sectors.
