Muscat:  His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik received the President of the Republic of Botswana at Al Barakah Palace on the occasion of his working visit to the Sultanate of Oman.

A session of talks was held, chaired by His Majesty the Sultan and the visiting President, during which they explored avenues of cooperation across various fields to serve mutual interests.

The two leaders later witnessed the signing of several cooperation agreements between the two friendly countries.

The agreements covered areas including mineral exploration, as well as the development and operation of two oil storage facilities — one in the coastal region of Namibia and the other in Botswana.

They also included a project to develop, build and finance a 500-megawatt photovoltaic solar power plant with battery storage in Maun, Botswana.
