

MUSCAT: A spirited encounter marked the recent Ramadhan floodlight cricket tournament at the Maabela Cricket Ground, where Oman Dentists’ XI faced Braveheart XI in an exciting match.
Batting first, Braveheart XI posted a competitive total of 112 runs. In response, Oman Dentists’ XI fought hard in the chase but fell short by 8 runs in a closely contested finish, adding to the tournament’s competitive spirit.
The Oman Dentists’ XI was led by Captain Dr Haresh Basheer, with Dr Frank Wesley serving as vice-captain. The squad featured a strong lineup including Dr Mohit Soni (wicketkeeper), Dr Ashik Malik, Dr Nishant Anand, Dr Ismail, Dr Mujeeb, Dr Sanal Mohan, Dr Sijin, Dr Hasham, Dr Khader, Dr Vinay, Dr Amir, Dr Raziyuddin, Dr Sai Mohit, Dr Anita, and Dr Kiran, among others.
The team also actively participated in a recently held box cricket tournament, further underlining their enthusiasm for the sport and camaraderie beyond their professional commitments.
On the sidelines of the tournament, a heartfelt felicitation ceremony was held for Dr Tanveer, who is leaving Oman after 15 years of dedicated service in Shinas. The memento was presented by Oman Dentists’ XI captain Dr Haresh Basheer and vice-captain Dr Ashik Malik, in the presence of senior doctors and teammates.
The gathering included Dr Mujeeb, Dr Sanal Mohan, Dr Sijin, Dr Frank Wesley, Dr Hasham, Dr Ismail, Dr Mohit Soni, Dr Nishant Anand, Dr Khader, Dr Vinay, Dr Amir, Dr Raziyuddin, Dr Sai Mohit, Dr Anita, Hasham and others, reflecting the deep respect and affection Dr Tanveer has earned over the years.
The evening thus blended competitive cricket with warm camaraderie, celebrating both sporting spirit and a colleague’s remarkable journey in Oman.
