Beirut - Bahrain has opened its airspace hours after the announcement of a ceasefire between the US, Israel, and Iran, and following similar steps by Syria and Iraq.

Bahrain's Civil Aviation Affairs at the Transport and Telecommunications Ministry announced the reopening of airspace over the Kingdom of Bahrain, after a temporary closure that was implemented as a precautionary measure in light of recent developments in the region.

Civil Aviation Affairs underlined "its commitment to ensuring the smooth operation of air traffic in accordance with the highest safety and security standards, in continuous coordination with the relevant authorities, to safeguard the safety of aviation and travellers."

Iran and the US agreed on a two-week ceasefire and the temporary reopening of the Strait of Hormuz overnight under a last-ditch deal to avert a massive wave of strikes threatened by US President DonaldTrump.
