Oman condemns attacks on Kuwait’s Consulate in Basra

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman has condemned the attacks that targeted the Consulate General of the State of Kuwait in the city of Basra, Republic of Iraq, describing them as a clear violation of international diplomatic norms and conventions that guarantee the inviolability of diplomatic missions and the safety of their personnel.

 

In a statement issued today by the Foreign Ministry, the Sultanate of Oman affirmed its absolute rejection of such acts and stressed the imperative of respecting the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, as well as ensuring the protection of diplomatic and consular missions under all circumstances and at all times.
