Muscat: Authorities have called on the public to remain vigilant and promptly report any sighting of suspicious flying objects, including drones, as part of efforts to enhance public safety and security.

In an advisory issued through official channels, the public has been urged to immediately notify the relevant security authorities via WhatsApp on 77720078 upon observing any unusual aerial activity. Individuals are also advised to remain calm, move away from the location and avoid gathering near the site.

The advisory stressed the importance of refraining from sharing unverified information or images on social media platforms, underscoring the need to rely solely on official sources for accurate updates.

Authorities further encouraged the public to provide precise location details when reporting such incidents and, where possible, attach photos or video footage to support the report.

The notice also outlined key indicators of suspicious drones, noting that such objects may produce loud noise, fly at low altitudes, move slowly and may not display conventional lighting.

The move comes as part of ongoing efforts to raise public awareness and ensure swift response to any potential threats, while reinforcing the role of community cooperation in maintaining safety and stability.
