ROP arrests 22 expats for violating labour law

MUSCAT: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has successfully conducted a targeted operation resulting in the arrest of 22 expats in the wilayats of Al Mudhaibi and Sinaw.


'The detainees, who are of various African and Asian nationalities, were taken into custody following reports of breaches concerning labour and residency regulations within the Sultanate of Oman,' a statement from ROP said.


Following the arrests, the relevant authorities confirmed that the individuals were found to be in direct violation of the established Labour Law and Residency Law.


'Necessary legal proceedings are currently being finalised against them to facilitate the appropriate judicial actions,' ROP statement said.
