Less intense air trough to impact Oman this week

Muscat: Preliminary indicators indicate that the Sultanate of Oman could be affected by a weather trough between March 30 and April 2, according to a meteorological specialist Younis bin Hussein Al Shizawi.

He noted that these projections remain within the medium-range forecast window, adding that a more detailed report may be issued should the indicators persist in upcoming updates.

Al Shizawi explained that initial readings indicate the expected system is unlikely to match the intensity of the previous trough, known as Al Masarrat low pressure system, particularly in terms of rainfall amounts.

He attributed the anticipated weaker impact to the depletion of atmospheric energy, including moisture and heat, over the past ten days due to the earlier system. This, he said, is likely to result in a significantly less intense weather condition compared to what the region experienced last week
