Over 10,000 newborns registered in Jan, Feb

MUSCAT: A total of 10,386 newborns were reported in the Sultanate of Oman in January and February this year. The total number of births in January was 5,762, while the total number of newborns in February was 4,624, according to data published by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).


The NCSI statistics showed that the total number of births to Omani citizens was 9,254 in January and February, compared to 1,132 births to non-Omanis.


The statistics also showed 1,486 deaths in January and February, including 1,217 Omanis and 269 non-Omanis.
